Description

  • Collaborate with external protocol developers to audit code and secure cryptographic protocol implementations.
  • Conduct in-depth security research on cryptographic protocols and publish findings in technical blog posts or conference presentations.
  • Research zero-knowledge protocols and translate complex academic papers into accessible insights for engineers.
  • Identify common vulnerabilities in zero-knowledge protocols and incorporate them into internal tools.
  • Stay current on the latest developments in zero-knowledge cryptography.
  • Communicate research findings clearly to team members and, when needed, explain technical concepts to clients.
  • Support CertiK’s broader security services, including security consulting, reviews, audits, smart contract verification, and penetration testing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years of relevant work experience, or a Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Strong foundation in cryptography, including elliptic curve cryptography, protocol design, implementation, and circuit design.
  • Familiarity with zero-knowledge proof systems such as SNARKs, STARKs, and Bulletproofs.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language: C, C++, Go, or Rust.
  • Deep understanding of zero-knowledge protocols and expertise in the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) and security.
  • Ability to analyze and compare different zero-knowledge protocols and understand their strengths and weaknesses quickly.
  • Familiarity with the blockchain ecosystem, including Ethereum and layer-2 ZK-rollups (preferred).
  • Familiarity with domain-specific languages such as Circom (preferred).
  • Familiarity with multi-party computation (MPC) (preferred).
  • Strong background in mathematics, blockchain security, or prior experience working with ZK systems (preferred).
