Description

  • Build and maintain API-to-API integrations, direct database connections, and FHIR/HL7-based workflows with EHR systems.
  • Deliver scoped integration work reliably, maintainably, and securely with guidance from senior engineers.
  • Communicate with customers, partners, and external technical resources to understand integration requirements and implementation details.
  • Design, build, and maintain integrations in Rhapsody following engineering best practices.
  • Contribute to scalable healthcare integration architecture and help evolve integration tooling and processes.
  • Provide technical training and documentation so support teams can monitor and troubleshoot integrations.
  • Assist in measuring the impact of live integrations and support production workflows.
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering on requirements, PRDs, and solution definition.
  • Participate in team rituals such as kickoffs, retrospectives, technical debt reviews, and on-call support.
  • Work independently on defined tasks while escalating design questions and blockers appropriately.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on software engineering experience with JavaScript and at least one other programming language.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience building, maintaining, and scaling backend systems, APIs, and services.
  • Strong fundamentals in computer programming, software development lifecycle, coding best practices, design patterns, and object-oriented architecture.
  • Experience writing and maintaining automated tests alongside production code.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, especially in a fully remote environment.
  • Excellent ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical partners across discovery, development, and testing phases.
  • Strong experience working remotely.
  • Ability to independently execute defined work, take ownership of longer-term initiatives, and follow through on commitments.
  • Must reside within the United States.
  • Commitment to supporting diversity and inclusion; experience with healthcare integrations using FHIR and HL7 is preferred.
  • Experience with mainstream EHR vendors such as Epic, eClinicalWorks, AthenaHealth, or NextGen is preferred.
  • Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript, Ruby on Rails, Postgres, Google Cloud Platform, and/or Mirth or Rhapsody Integration Engine is preferred.
