Description

  • Develop and maintain analytical applications with Python, Streamlit, Plotly, Dash, and Django.
  • Own the implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance of application features and data workflows.
  • Productionize statistical models and machine learning workflows.
  • Translate R-based research and analytical workflows into tested Python code.
  • Build data pipelines supporting clinical data processing, analysis, visualization, and reporting.
  • Integrate applications with databases, APIs, documents, and structured or unstructured data.
  • Develop AI features using information extraction, retrieval-augmented generation, tool calling, and multi-step workflows.
  • Implement validation, grounding, logging, traceability, and human review for AI outputs.
  • Collaborate with scientists, clinicians, product stakeholders, and engineers on technical solutions.
  • Monitor performance, conduct code reviews, document decisions, and follow healthcare data security and HIPAA-aligned practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Biostatistics, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in data engineering, backend engineering, full-stack development, analytics engineering, or a related role.
  • Strong Python proficiency for data analysis and software development.
  • Experience with statistical analysis, data science, machine learning workflows, and productionizing research code.
  • Experience building analytical applications with Streamlit, Plotly, Dash, or similar tools.
  • Experience with Django, FastAPI, Flask, or a comparable backend framework.
  • Experience building data pipelines and working with relational databases, SQL, APIs, and common data formats.
  • Applied knowledge of an LLM capability such as RAG, structured extraction, tool calling, or agentic workflows.
  • Understanding of AI production concerns including grounding, hallucination mitigation, validation, security, latency, cost, and human oversight.
  • Experience with Git, automated testing, debugging, and collaborative development; healthcare, HIPAA, Azure, Databricks, CI/CD, pytest, or data science libraries are preferred.

Benefits

  • Base salary of $133,000–$166,000 in the San Francisco Bay Area or $108,000–$135,000 for remote U.S. roles.
  • Potential discretionary bonuses, incentives, and restricted stock units.
