Description

  • Review flagged abnormal, urgent, and critical lab results from the pre-screening program and prepare them for patient communication.
  • Contact patients to explain lab results in a clear, compassionate, and legally appropriate manner within RN scope of practice.
  • Provide patient education on lab result significance and next steps in care, including study-specific information when needed.
  • Assess the urgency and clinical implications of results and prioritize communications based on medical significance.
  • Document patient communications, concerns, results, and follow-up actions accurately in progress notes and required records.
  • Escalate questions outside RN scope to on-call providers and ensure completion of result delivery and documentation.
  • Handle lab-related escalations from Member Services, including clarifications, discrepancies, and additional test requests.
  • Work with the Clinical Conduct Team and Medical Director guidance to investigate duplicate or concerning lab findings.
  • Train and educate the Member Services team to improve patient interactions and service quality.
  • Manage multiple lab results and patient communications efficiently within a structured on-call coverage system.

Requirements

  • Active RN licensure in good standing with compact licensure required.
  • Additional state licenses may be required, and willingness to obtain and maintain them is required.
  • BSN or equivalent degree preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a working nurse, in clinical research, medical communications, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce or other EMR systems for documenting patient interactions.
  • Strong analytical ability and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a larger clinical team.
  • Experience managing multiple patients and prioritizing urgent cases efficiently.
  • Remote work from within the United States is required, with 100% of work performed in a remote office environment.

  • Expected pay range of $34.00-$48.00 USD per hour for full-time team members.
