Description

  • Lead client relationships and develop partnering relationships that create future opportunities for CannonDesign.
  • Maintain positive client communication throughout the project and clearly present design, construction, and project issues.
  • Establish shared expectations with clients early in an engagement and align stakeholders, decisions, and working methods.
  • Lead key meetings and presentations and support business development with Marketing and Office Leadership.
  • Manage contractual obligations, scope changes, and client approvals for additional services.
  • Lead project teams to define goals and work plans and deliver quality, budget, schedule, innovation, and profitability objectives.
  • Develop, manage, and monitor project work plans, budgets, and schedules using tools such as MS Project and Deltek Project Planning.
  • Oversee design, documentation, and construction-phase implementation of the design.
  • Maintain project records, including key decisions and documentation within the firm’s file structure.
  • Lead risk mitigation, compliance, statutory requirements, and the QA/QC process for project quality.
  • Coordinate with the Project Architect, Quality leader, and other project leadership on planning and contract negotiation.
  • Mentor less experienced staff, train other project managers, and provide constructive feedback to the team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 12 years of related experience is required, including managing projects with construction budgets of $70M.
  • Current licensure is preferred.
  • LEED certification is preferred.
  • Ability to manage large or multiple projects and train project managers.
  • Strong client leadership and project team management capability for large or multiple projects.
  • Strong business acumen is required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Strong technical knowledge and coordination skills, with the ability to build rapport with project teams and clients.
  • Familiarity with Revit, Microsoft Office, MS Project, Deltek Vision, Bluebeam, and other data management software is required.
  • Must be able to perform as a leader of authority with expert-level knowledge.
