Description

  • Develop innovative planning solutions and advance industry best practices for evolving researcher and health client needs.
  • Collaborate with project teams to provide technical expertise in programming and planning for Health projects.
  • Lead user group meetings to collect and refine program requirements and assess space utilization.
  • Communicate planning concepts to clients and project teams verbally and through graphic and written reports.
  • Translate planning concepts into actionable designs and work with architectural designers to optimize plans that meet owners’ goals.
  • Lead the development, modification, and review of planning concepts and solutions.
  • Assist in producing architectural drawings and specifications to convert planning concepts into construction documentation.
  • Support development of project scope, plans, and services during contract negotiations and may participate in marketing proposals.
  • Incorporate Integrated Sustainable Design solutions into projects and maintain client relationships while providing guidance to other designers and project leaders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering, or a related field required.
  • Minimum 8 years of related experience.
  • Prior experience serving as a subject-matter expert on Health projects required.
  • Licensure or registration in the United States preferred.
  • LEED accreditation preferred.
  • Must be client-facing with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of building codes and requirements.
  • Strong business acumen, critical thinking, and analytical skills; ability to perform work with a high degree of latitude and manage ambiguity.
  • Strong technical knowledge, coordination skills, and ability to build rapport with project teams and clients.
  • Familiarity with Revit, Microsoft Office, and Bluebeam required.

  • Salary range for Chicago office: $88,600 to $110,700 annually (actual pay may vary by location, experience, education, and skill level).
