Description

  • Establish regulatory and policy priorities aligned with Calibrant’s commercial objectives.
  • Provide strategic guidance on legislation and regulations affecting distributed energy resources, battery storage, and large-load customers.
  • Lead engagement with ISO/RTO committees, utilities, regulators, and stakeholders across ERCOT, WECC, and CAISO.
  • Monitor market rules, regulatory actions, and state policies, translating developments into business guidance.
  • Represent Calibrant at stakeholder meetings, technical conferences, industry committees, and trade associations.
  • Advocate for regulatory and policy outcomes that support project development, customer solutions, and business growth.
  • Coordinate consultants, lobbyists, and external advisors on regulatory initiatives.
  • Partner with Market Development, Project Delivery, Market Operations, and Commercial teams.
  • Interface with utilities, transmission owners, ISOs/RTOs, and regulators to advance projects and resolve regulatory issues.
  • Develop business cases, position papers, comments, and regulatory filings; identify and communicate regulatory risks and opportunities to leadership.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in energy policy, regulatory affairs, market strategy, or a related field.
  • Experience with ISO/RTO market structures and electricity industry regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience in ERCOT and/or Western U.S. energy markets, including WECC or CAISO.
  • Ability to explain complex regulatory matters to business and executive audiences.
  • Demonstrated stakeholder engagement, coalition-building, and advocacy skills.
  • Experience working with utilities, ISOs/RTOs, regulators, and trade associations.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
