Description

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of swag designers and coordinators through clear expectations, structured 1:1s, and accountability.
  • Own the end-to-end quality of all design outputs before they are sent to clients or vendors.
  • Act as a creative and strategic partner to customers and internal teams on branded merchandise concepts and project goals.
  • Oversee the swag design process from intake through delivery, including briefs, mock-ups, production files, and escalated projects.
  • Audit workflows to identify bottlenecks, reduce manual effort, and improve turnaround and efficiency.
  • Develop, document, and maintain SOPs for core design and production workflows.
  • Guide customers through design decisions and communicate directly with clients to clarify direction and manage expectations.
  • Own and report on team KPIs, including throughput, turnaround time, revision rates, and client satisfaction.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Success, Uploaders, and Vendors.
  • Stay current on industry trends, design best practices, swag production innovations, and automation tools.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in the promotional products industry.
  • Fluency in decoration methods such as screen print, embroidery, laser engraving, dye sublimation, and pad print.
  • 4+ years of experience in graphic, product, or fashion design.
  • A portfolio demonstrating production-ready branded merchandise work is required.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Hands-on experience preparing files for physical production, including bleeds, PMS colors, imprint areas, and vector requirements.
  • 2+ years of experience leading or directly managing a creative or operations team.
  • Experience setting performance expectations, giving feedback, and developing team members.
  • Experience stepping into a team that needed structure or operational improvement and diagnosing what needed to change.
  • An automation-first mindset with experience implementing tools or systems that reduce repetitive work and improve output.
  • Experience with project management and workflow tools such as Clickup, Notion, or Airtable, including configuration and optimization.
  • Comfort evaluating and adopting emerging tools such as AI-assisted design, digital asset management, and workflow automation platforms.
  • Customer-facing communication experience with the ability to explain design concepts and de-escalate complex situations.
  • Strong communication, attention to detail, and organizational skills to manage multiple projects and people at once.
  • Familiarity with print-on-demand platforms such as Printful or Fulfill Engine is a major bonus.
  • English fluency; additional languages are a plus.
