Description

  • Own and optimize core financial formulas across the platform, including funding rates, index prices, mark prices, liquidation engines, margin models, insurance fund mechanics, and settlement logic.
  • Identify and resolve edge cases, parameter inefficiencies, and risk-reward imbalances in existing financial models.
  • Collaborate with Risk on risk index development and financial logic optimization projects.
  • Independently research and propose new financial products such as derivatives, structured products, and hybrid instruments.
  • Conduct competitive analysis, market microstructure research, and user behavior analysis to identify product opportunities.
  • Translate product concepts into rigorous financial specifications for engineering implementation.
  • Build, mentor, and manage a team of financial engineers and product researchers.
  • Set goals, delivery timelines, and quality standards for the team.
  • Foster a culture of self-driven research, intellectual curiosity, and data-informed decision making.
  • Work closely with Trading Products, BTE, and Trading Ops to align models, specifications, parameter tuning, and anomaly investigation.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in quantitative finance, financial engineering, derivatives product design, or related fields.
  • Deep understanding of derivatives pricing, risk models, margin systems, and market microstructure.
  • Experience in both crypto exchanges and traditional financial exchanges (TradFi).
  • Proven track record of designing and shipping financial products.
  • Strong motivation to create and launch innovative financial products that do not yet exist in the market.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills, with comfort in stochastic calculus, numerical methods, and statistical modeling.
  • Experience leading and growing a technical team with 4+ direct reports.
  • Ability to independently produce research and proposals, not just execute on a roadmap.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex financial concepts to cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Bilingual English and Mandarin is preferred.
  • Programming proficiency in Python, SQL, or similar languages for data analysis, backtesting, and prototyping financial models is preferred.
  • Hands-on trading experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with exchange systems such as order matching, liquidation, and funding mechanisms is preferred.
  • Background in quant trading, market making, or derivatives structuring at a top-tier firm is preferred.
  • Advanced degree (MSc/PhD) in Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related quantitative field is preferred.
