Description

  • Build, maintain, and improve the driver, attendant, and parent mobile applications in .NET MAUI for iOS and Android.
  • Own end-to-end mobile release management, including builds, signing, provisioning, App Store submission, Google Play publishing, review, and rollout.
  • Design and build C# backend REST APIs that support the mobile applications.
  • Integrate mobile apps with ruggedized tablets and attached peripherals such as RFID readers, QR and barcode scanners, USB devices, and power/mounting hardware.
  • Own the push notification and messaging pipeline for drivers, attendants, and parents.
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues across the mobile portfolio and supporting services.
  • Contribute to adjacent product areas such as ridership, scanning, GPS/live tracking, and dispatch features.
  • Work across the broader student transportation platform as needed, including BusPlanner Web and related services.

Requirements

  • 4-6 years of professional mobile development experience, including 2-3 years building and shipping production apps with .NET MAUI.
  • Strong, demonstrable .NET MAUI experience with shipped production applications; Xamarin.Forms background is relevant, but current MAUI capability is required.
  • Solid C# skills, including the ability to independently design and build backend REST APIs in .NET.
  • Full mobile lifecycle experience, including build configuration, code signing, provisioning, store submission, and release management for both the Apple App Store and Google Play.
  • Experience integrating mobile applications with physical hardware and peripherals such as scanners, readers, USB devices, or Bluetooth devices.
  • An AI-first, Claude-first approach to development, with regular use of AI tooling for design, build, test, and debugging.
  • Comfort working autonomously with a small team and taking a problem from ambiguous request to shipped release.
  • React Native and/or Progressive Web App experience is preferred.
  • DevOps capability, including build and release pipelines, environment setup, and deployment automation for server-based software, is preferred.
  • Experience with Android device management, kiosk deployments, or fleet-provisioned tablets is preferred.
  • Background in fleet, transportation, telematics, GPS, or logistics software is preferred.
  • Experience with both self-hosted and cloud-hosted deployments of the same product is preferred.
