Description

  • Drive the Buildkite product forward with high standards for ideation and execution.
  • Design and build prototypes that go beyond static files.
  • Blend design and experience early through real interactions, workflows, and dogfooding.
  • Close the gap between concept development and shipped product.
  • Contribute to Design Engineering and front-end workflows, tools, and best practices.
  • Help shape how brand is translated into a living product experience across touchpoints.
  • Collaborate across Product, Engineering, Support, Sales, Marketing, and other teams to deliver a coherent developer experience.
  • Speak directly with customer teams and translate insights into product improvements.
  • Support Design Engineering practices as a lever for business impact.
  • Work with fellow Design Engineers, PMs, and engineers to deliver cohesive platform experiences.

Requirements

  • Experience working within SaaS as a Product Designer or Design Engineer.
  • Experience with standard design tools, especially Figma and FigJam, with a shift toward more code-first work.
  • Documented experience working with React, Tailwind, Vite, and other front-end frameworks.
  • Proven ability to solve complex problems both independently and collaboratively.
  • Proven ability to give and receive constructive feedback in an open, candid environment.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to customers and non-technical stakeholders.
  • High empathy and strong communication skills in a remote-first, high-trust team.
  • Rails experience is a plus.
  • Understanding of the DevOps field and related DevTools space is a plus.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD or related developer tools is a plus, with curiosity and willingness to learn valued.
