Description

  • Own the architecture of the shared Web and Mobile codebase.
  • Maintain and improve Borrowell’s Expo and monorepo infrastructure.
  • Design tooling and standards that help product teams iterate quickly and safely.
  • Optimize code sharing between React web and React Native mobile to reduce duplication and friction.
  • Serve as a technical consultant to product teams and define the Golden Path for new features.
  • Raise the bar for code quality across the engineering organization.
  • Maintain and enhance the mobile application to improve reliability and release health.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, Engineering, Data, and QA teams.
  • Support foundational frontend platform work that enables multiple product teams.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional experience building applications in React or React Native.
  • Strong React fundamentals, including hooks, state management, and component patterns.
  • Production experience with TypeScript.
  • Experience with state management tools such as React Context, React Query, or similar.
  • Understanding of RESTful APIs and asynchronous data fetching patterns.
  • Solid Git and pull request workflow experience.
  • Comfort working in a monorepo or multi-app environment.
  • Experience designing and building cross-platform shared UI components across web and mobile.
  • Familiarity with mobile CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and app store submission processes.
  • Preferred: fullstack experience with backend technologies and database systems.
  • Preferred: familiarity with micro-frontend architectures.
  • Preferred: experience managing dependencies and shared logic in a monorepo environment.
  • Preferred: Expo development and OTA update workflow experience.
  • Preferred: exposure to AI coding tools such as Cursor and Claude Code.
  • Preferred: experience working in fast-paced, high-growth startups.
