Description

  • Spearhead design, development, and maintenance of front-end and back-end applications for the ControlCheck product suite.
  • Build web services using Ruby on Rails and Python FastAPI and deliver production-ready features.
  • Deploy infrastructure and application changes regularly using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
  • Own the end-to-end software development lifecycle from ideation and design through deployment and monitoring.
  • Ensure application performance, security, and scalability meet company standards and operational needs.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure code quality and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Lead code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and champion engineering best practices.
  • Mentor and coach junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning, ownership, and technical excellence.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies and continuously enhance the technology stack.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Solid understanding of software engineering best practices, including code reviews, source control, build processes, and testing.
  • Experience developing Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) to deploy applications and infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated expertise writing comprehensive tests (unit, integration, and end-to-end).
  • Strong understanding of database systems with a focus on relational SQL (MySQL).
  • Proven experience in product development, translating business requirements into scalable, user-centric software solutions.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical challenges.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience collaborating within cross-functional teams.
  • Proactive, self-driven attitude with a passion for learning, innovation, and leading by example.
  • Nice to have: database administration experience (preferably AWS Aurora MySQL) and experience integrating Electronic Health Record (EHR) data into enterprise software.

  • $120,000 - $135,000 annual base salary range (actual offer varies by level, experience, performance, and location)
