Description

  • Design low-latency service architectures on AWS with appropriate use of queues, caches, and search projections.
  • Define systems against explicit p95/p99 latency budgets, including durable synchronous commits in critical paths.
  • Architect audit and evidence systems using append-only logs, versioned or bitemporal data models, and deterministic replay.
  • Design failure semantics, including fail-open, fail-closed, degraded-state, and outage strategies.
  • Architect secure multi-tenant platforms and evaluate RLS, schema-per-tenant, and database-per-tenant approaches.
  • Design scalable RESTful APIs and SDK integrations with external services.
  • Build capacity models and cloud cost/performance projections using the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
  • Establish technical standards, conduct architecture and code reviews, mentor engineers, and document decisions through diagrams and ADRs.
  • Present and defend architecture decisions during client engineering and security reviews.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional software development experience, including 3+ years in an architecture-focused role.
  • Substantial experience architecting complex systems end to end.
  • Deep experience with AWS, PostgreSQL/AuroraDB, and Row-Level Security at the data-modeling and architecture level.
  • Strong expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript across the stack.
  • Expertise designing scalable RESTful APIs and service integrations.
  • Experience with event-driven systems, message queues, and caching strategies at scale; preferred.
  • Experience in compliance-sensitive or regulated domains, such as TCPA/DNC, fintech decisioning, or audit-heavy systems; preferred.
  • Experience with AI coding assistants in daily development.
  • Experience establishing standards, mentoring teams, producing architecture documentation, and defending technical decisions.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred, with availability to overlap US business hours.
