Description

  • Design low-latency service architectures on AWS using appropriate distributed components.
  • Define systems around explicit p95/p99 latency budgets and durable synchronous commits.
  • Architect audit and evidence systems with append-only logs, versioned or bitemporal models, and historical replay.
  • Design fail-open, fail-closed, and degraded-state behavior for outages.
  • Architect secure multi-tenant data environments using appropriate isolation strategies.
  • Design and build scalable RESTful APIs and SDK integrations.
  • Establish technical standards, conduct architecture and code reviews, and mentor engineering teams.
  • Produce architecture documentation, diagrams, and architectural decision records.
  • Present and defend architecture decisions during client engineering and security reviews.
  • Develop capacity models and cloud cost/performance projections.


Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional software development experience, including 3+ years in an architecture-focused role.
  • Substantial experience architecting complex systems end to end.
  • Deep experience with AWS, PostgreSQL/AuroraDB, and PostgreSQL Row-Level Security.
  • Strong expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript across the stack.
  • Experience designing scalable RESTful APIs, SDK integrations, event-driven systems, queues, and caching strategies.
  • Experience with latency budgets, audit systems, outage semantics, and secure multi-tenant architectures.
  • Experience applying the AWS Well-Architected Framework to capacity and cost modeling.
  • Experience with architecture documentation, technical standards, reviews, mentoring, and client presentations.
  • Experience using AI coding assistants in daily development; regulated-domain experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred, with availability to overlap US business hours.
