Description

  • Design end-to-end architectures for large, complex software systems.
  • Design low-latency AWS service architectures with explicit p95/p99 latency budgets.
  • Architect audit, evidence, event-log, historical-replay, and outage-state systems.
  • Design secure multi-tenant environments using appropriate data-isolation strategies.
  • Architect scalable RESTful APIs and SDK integrations with external services.
  • Develop capacity models and cloud cost/performance projections using the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
  • Establish technical standards, conduct architecture and code reviews, and mentor engineering teams.
  • Produce architecture diagrams, documentation, and technical decision records.
  • Present and defend architecture decisions during client engineering and security reviews.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional software development experience, including 3+ years in an architecture-focused role.
  • Substantial experience architecting large, complex systems end to end.
  • Deep experience with AWS, low-latency architectures, distributed components, and synchronous durable commits.
  • Experience designing append-only event logs, versioned or bitemporal data models, and deterministic historical replay.
  • Experience designing fail-open, fail-closed, and degraded-state outage semantics.
  • Expertise in PostgreSQL/AuroraDB and Row-Level Security at the data-modeling and architecture level.
  • Expertise building scalable RESTful APIs and SDK integrations.
  • Strong expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript across the stack.
  • Experience with event-driven design, message queues, and caching strategies at scale.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience with compliance-sensitive or regulated domains preferred.
  • Ability to overlap US business hours and work with AI coding assistants.
  • Strong technical leadership, problem-solving, communication, ownership, accountability, and attention to detail.
