Description

  • Architect large, complex systems end to end, including low-latency AWS service architectures.
  • Design systems with explicit p95/p99 latency budgets and durable synchronous commits in critical paths.
  • Develop audit and evidence systems using append-only logs, versioned or bitemporal models, and deterministic historical replay.
  • Define fail-open, fail-closed, degraded-state, and outage-handling strategies.
  • Architect secure multi-tenant platforms using appropriate database isolation models and PostgreSQL/AuroraDB Row-Level Security.
  • Design scalable RESTful APIs and SDK integrations with external services.
  • Establish technical standards, conduct architecture and code reviews, and mentor engineering teams.
  • Create architecture documentation, diagrams, and architectural decision records.
  • Present and defend architecture decisions in client engineering and security reviews.
  • Build capacity models and cloud cost/performance projections using the AWS Well-Architected Framework.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional software development experience, including 3+ years in an architecture-focused role.
  • Deep experience with AWS, low-latency distributed architectures, queues, caches, and search projections.
  • Experience designing for explicit p95/p99 latency targets and synchronous durable commits.
  • Expertise in audit systems, event logs, historical replay, and versioned or bitemporal data models.
  • Strong experience with secure multi-tenant architecture, PostgreSQL/AuroraDB, and Row-Level Security.
  • Expertise building scalable RESTful APIs and service SDK integrations.
  • Strong Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript experience across the stack.
  • Experience establishing technical standards, leading reviews, mentoring teams, and documenting architecture decisions.
  • Experience using AI coding assistants in daily development.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience in compliance-sensitive or regulated domains and event-driven systems is preferred.
  • Ability to overlap with U.S. business hours, with strong problem-solving, technical leadership, ownership, accountability, and attention to detail.
