Description

  • Design end-to-end architectures for complex, scalable software systems on AWS.
  • Create low-latency service architectures with explicit p95/p99 latency budgets and appropriate use of queues, caches, and search projections.
  • Design audit and evidence systems with append-only event logs, versioned or bitemporal models, and deterministic historical replay.
  • Define fail-open, fail-closed, degraded-state, and outage-handling strategies.
  • Architect secure multi-tenant environments and evaluate tenant-isolation tradeoffs.
  • Design scalable RESTful APIs and SDK integrations with external services.
  • Establish technical standards, conduct architecture and code reviews, and mentor engineering teams.
  • Produce architecture documentation, diagrams, and technical decision records.
  • Present and defend architecture decisions during client engineering and security reviews.
  • Develop capacity models and AWS cost/performance projections.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional software development experience, including 3+ years in an architecture-focused role.
  • Substantial experience architecting large, complex systems end to end.
  • Deep experience with AWS, PostgreSQL/AuroraDB, and PostgreSQL Row-Level Security.
  • Strong expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript across the stack.
  • Experience designing secure multi-tenant systems, scalable RESTful APIs, and service SDK integrations.
  • Experience with event-driven architecture, message queues, caching, and AWS Well-Architected practices.
  • Experience with compliance-sensitive or regulated domains is preferred.
  • Experience using AI coding assistants in daily development.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Strong technical leadership, problem-solving, communication, attention to detail, ownership, and accountability; availability to overlap US business hours.
