Description

  • Design low-latency service architectures in AWS using appropriate distributed components.
  • Define latency budgets, synchronous commit strategies, and outage-state semantics.
  • Architect audit, evidence, event-log, versioned data, and deterministic replay systems.
  • Design secure multi-tenant architectures using PostgreSQL/AuroraDB and Row-Level Security.
  • Architect scalable RESTful APIs and SDK integrations with external services.
  • Develop capacity models and AWS cost/performance projections.
  • Establish technical standards, conduct architecture and code reviews, and mentor engineers.
  • Create architecture documentation, diagrams, and technical decision records.
  • Present and defend architecture decisions during client engineering and security reviews.
  • Lead end-to-end architecture for complex systems and maintain accountability for deliverables.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional software development experience, including 3+ years in architecture-focused roles.
  • Substantial experience architecting complex systems end to end.
  • Strong expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript across the stack.
  • Deep experience with AWS, PostgreSQL/AuroraDB, and Row-Level Security.
  • Expertise designing scalable RESTful APIs and service integrations.
  • Experience with latency budgets, audit systems, fail-open/fail-closed semantics, and secure multi-tenant environments.
  • Experience with capacity planning and the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
  • Experience establishing standards, reviewing architecture and code, mentoring teams, and documenting technical decisions.
  • Experience working with AI coding assistants in daily development.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Ability to overlap U.S. business hours and demonstrate strong technical leadership, problem-solving, ownership, and attention to detail.
  • Preferred: experience in regulated domains, event-driven systems, message queues, and caching at scale.
