Description

  • Design low-latency service architectures on AWS using appropriate distributed components.
  • Define systems against explicit p95/p99 latency budgets, including durable synchronous commits in critical paths.
  • Architect audit and evidence systems with append-only logs, versioned or bitemporal models, and deterministic historical replay.
  • Design fail-open, fail-closed, and degraded-state behaviors for outage scenarios.
  • Architect secure multi-tenant environments and evaluate tenancy, database, and Row-Level Security strategies.
  • Design scalable RESTful APIs and SDK integrations with external services.
  • Develop capacity models and cloud cost/performance projections using the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
  • Establish technical standards, conduct architecture and code reviews, and mentor engineering teams.
  • Create architecture documentation, diagrams, and ADRs, and present decisions during client engineering and security reviews.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional software development experience, including 3+ years in an architecture-focused role.
  • Substantial experience architecting large, complex systems end to end.
  • Deep experience with AWS, PostgreSQL/AuroraDB, and Row-Level Security at the data-modeling and architecture level.
  • Strong expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript across the stack.
  • Experience designing low-latency, event-driven, multi-tenant, and compliance-sensitive systems.
  • Experience with RESTful APIs, SDK integrations, message queues, caching, and search projections.
  • Experience working with AI coding assistants in daily development.
  • Strong technical leadership, problem-solving, ownership, accountability, attention to detail, and adherence to best practices.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Ability to overlap US business hours and work effectively in a client-focused consultancy environment.
