Description

  • Design low-latency service architectures and establish explicit p95/p99 latency budgets.
  • Architect audit and evidence systems with append-only logs, versioned or bitemporal models, and deterministic replay.
  • Define fail-open, fail-closed, degraded-state, and outage-handling strategies.
  • Design secure multi-tenant environments and evaluate RLS, schema-per-tenant, and database-per-tenant approaches.
  • Architect scalable RESTful APIs and SDK integrations with external services.
  • Develop capacity models and AWS cost/performance projections using the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
  • Establish technical standards, conduct architecture and code reviews, and mentor engineering teams.
  • Produce architecture diagrams, documentation, and technical decision records.
  • Present and defend architecture decisions in client engineering and security reviews.
  • Contribute across varied consulting projects while maintaining ownership of deliverables and client commitments.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional software development experience, including 3+ years in an architecture-focused role.
  • Substantial experience architecting complex systems end to end.
  • Deep experience with AWS, low-latency architectures, distributed components, and synchronous durable commits.
  • Strong PostgreSQL/AuroraDB and Row-Level Security expertise at the data-modeling and architecture level.
  • Expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, and scalable RESTful APIs.
  • Experience with event-driven design, message queues, and caching strategies at scale.
  • Experience designing compliance-sensitive or regulated systems (preferred).
  • Experience working with AI coding assistants in daily development.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Ability to overlap U.S. business hours, with strong problem-solving, technical leadership, communication, attention to detail, and accountability.
