Description

  • Design low-latency service architectures in AWS, including appropriate use of queues, caches, and search projections.
  • Define systems around explicit p95/p99 latency budgets and synchronous durable commits.
  • Architect audit and evidence systems with append-only logs, versioned or bitemporal models, and deterministic historical replay.
  • Design fail-open, fail-closed, and degraded-state behaviors for outages.
  • Architect secure multi-tenant environments and evaluate tenancy tradeoffs.
  • Design and build scalable RESTful APIs and SDK integrations.
  • Develop capacity models and AWS cost/performance projections using the Well-Architected Framework.
  • Establish technical standards, conduct architecture and code reviews, and mentor engineering teams.
  • Produce architecture diagrams and ADRs, and present decisions during client engineering and security reviews.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional software development experience, including 3+ years in architecture-focused roles.
  • Substantial experience architecting complex systems end to end.
  • Deep experience with AWS, PostgreSQL/AuroraDB, and Row-Level Security at the data-modeling and architecture level.
  • Strong expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript across the stack.
  • Expertise designing scalable RESTful APIs and service SDK integrations.
  • Experience with explicit latency budgets, audit systems, outage semantics, and secure multi-tenant architectures.
  • Experience with technical leadership, architecture and code reviews, mentoring, documentation, and client presentations.
  • Experience using AI coding assistants in daily development.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Ability to overlap US business hours, with strong ownership, problem-solving, attention to detail, and commitment to client deliverables.
  • Experience in regulated or compliance-sensitive domains and with event-driven systems, queues, and caching is preferred.
