Description

  • Design end-to-end architectures for complex, scalable applications and services on AWS.
  • Define low-latency architectures, latency budgets, synchronous commit paths, and appropriate use of queues, caches, and search projections.
  • Design audit and evidence systems using append-only logs, versioned or bitemporal models, and deterministic historical replay.
  • Establish fail-open, fail-closed, degraded-state, and outage-handling strategies.
  • Architect secure multi-tenant systems using appropriate database isolation and Row-Level Security approaches.
  • Design and build scalable RESTful APIs and SDK integrations.
  • Develop capacity models and AWS cost-performance projections using the Well-Architected Framework.
  • Set technical standards, conduct architecture and code reviews, and mentor engineering teams.
  • Create architecture documentation, diagrams, and architectural decision records.
  • Present and defend architecture decisions in client engineering and security reviews.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional software development experience, including 3+ years in an architecture-focused role.
  • Substantial experience architecting large, complex systems end to end.
  • Deep AWS experience designing low-latency service architectures.
  • Experience designing systems around explicit p95/p99 latency budgets and durable commits.
  • Expertise in PostgreSQL/AuroraDB, data modeling, and Row-Level Security.
  • Strong Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript experience across the stack.
  • Expertise designing scalable RESTful APIs and service SDK integrations.
  • Experience with secure multi-tenant architecture and isolation tradeoffs.
  • Strong technical leadership, problem-solving, ownership, accountability, and attention to detail.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Ability to overlap with US business hours.
  • Experience with AI coding assistants in daily development.
  • Experience in regulated or compliance-sensitive domains, event-driven systems, queues, and caching preferred.
