Description

  • Design end-to-end architectures for large, complex software systems.
  • Design low-latency AWS service architectures with appropriate queues, caches, and search projections.
  • Define latency budgets, durable commit strategies, outage postures, and degraded-state behavior.
  • Architect audit and evidence systems using append-only logs, versioned or bitemporal models, and deterministic replay.
  • Design secure multi-tenant environments using appropriate database isolation strategies and PostgreSQL/AuroraDB Row-Level Security.
  • Design and build scalable RESTful APIs and SDK integrations.
  • Establish technical standards, conduct architecture and code reviews, and mentor engineering teams.
  • Produce architecture diagrams, documentation, and technical decision records.
  • Present and defend architecture decisions during client engineering and security reviews.
  • Develop capacity models and cloud cost/performance projections using the AWS Well-Architected Framework.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional software development experience, including 3+ years in an architecture-focused role.
  • Deep experience with AWS, PostgreSQL/AuroraDB, and Row-Level Security at the data-modeling and architecture level.
  • Expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript across the stack.
  • Experience designing systems with explicit p95/p99 latency budgets and synchronous durable commits.
  • Experience architecting audit systems, event-driven systems, message queues, caching strategies, and historical replay.
  • Experience designing fail-open, fail-closed, and degraded-state semantics.
  • Proven experience architecting secure multi-tenant environments and evaluating RLS, schema-per-tenant, and database-per-tenant approaches.
  • Expertise building scalable RESTful APIs and SDK integrations.
  • Experience establishing technical standards, mentoring teams, and defending architecture decisions with clients.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience using AI coding assistants in daily development.
  • Experience in compliance-sensitive or regulated domains preferred.
  • Ability to overlap US business hours, with strong ownership, problem-solving, communication, attention to detail, and technical leadership skills.
