Description

  • Define and execute the enabling technology strategy and roadmap for BCI projects and initiatives.
  • Build, lead, and manage the enabling technology team, including hiring, training, mentoring, and performance evaluation.
  • Research and recommend best-practice approaches for infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, DevOps toolchains, vendor tooling, and developer experience.
  • Support the Emerging Technology Division in designing, developing, testing, and deploying applications and solutions across AI, machine learning, data science, data modelling, DLT/blockchain, and IoT.
  • Ensure the quality, reliability, security, and scalability of technology products and services.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance and impact of technology solutions and recommend improvements.
  • Communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including project partners, sponsors, donors, and beneficiaries.
  • Generate opportunities for strategic partnerships and represent BCI at conferences and events.
  • Present research findings and insights through PowerPoint decks and other communications.
  • Stay current on emerging technology, climate, and sustainability trends and developments.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of professional experience in information technology or a related field.
  • Strong technical knowledge of cloud and on-prem infrastructure, DevOps toolchains, cybersecurity, software development toolkits, libraries, frameworks, and vendor tooling.
  • Experience developing and deploying applications and solutions using cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Experience leading and managing technology teams and projects, including agile methodologies, budgeting, reporting, and documentation.
  • Excellent oral, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to balance competing demands under pressure.
  • Experience working independently and collaboratively to drive projects forward using own initiative.
  • Proven ability to conduct independent research, plan and facilitate research, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree, or equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Fluent in English; aptitude in Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish is desirable.
  • A portfolio of supported open-source GitHub projects is desirable.
  • Passion for climate and sustainability issues and solutions, with willingness to learn beyond technology to support impactful climate action.
