Description

  • Define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the monetization/platform domain, grounded in clear objectives and metrics.
  • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of subscription and platform capabilities—from opportunity discovery and requirements through launch, adoption, and ongoing optimization.
  • Manage billing, subscription management experiences, reporting and administration, internal tooling, compliance, feature access control, and platform reliability.
  • Partner cross-functionally with engineering, design, data science, marketing, sales, and other product teams to define roadmaps and deliver platform capabilities.
  • Use data to improve platform performance: own KPIs/OKRs, instrument the platform, analyze seller feedback and data, and feed insights into prioritization and roadmap.
  • Drive and coordinate cross-functional programs across Square, aligning priorities, sequencing work, and communicating progress and trade-offs to stakeholders.
  • Advise partner teams on platform capabilities and best practices and collaborate to implement integrated solutions for internal teams and sellers.
  • Present strategy and progress to senior/executive leadership and balance new feature delivery with reliability work and technical debt management.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional experience as a Product Manager for a platform, SaaS, and/or payments product.
  • Experience working with high-performing software engineering teams using AI and agile software development practices.
  • System-thinking mindset and technical fluency to work closely with senior engineers, understand service architectures, and translate product goals into technical requirements and trade-offs.
  • Experience or familiarity with subscription products, billing, subscription management, and platform reliability (preferred/expected).
  • Ability to prioritize across KLO/run-the-business work, strategic platform investments, and new product enablement using data and clear decision frameworks.
  • Proven track record of building strong partnerships across engineering, operations, finance, compliance, risk, and partner product teams—especially in matrixed organizations.
  • Ability to simplify complex topics for diverse audiences and drive alignment with senior stakeholders.
  • Metrics-driven approach to decision-making: comfortable defining KPIs, digging into dashboards, and using quantitative and qualitative insights to guide the roadmap.
  • Demonstrated curiosity, ownership, bias for action, and commitment to building resilient, long-lived infrastructure that earns customer trust.
  • Passion for Square's mission and for solving complex product and technical challenges.

  • Salary ranges (U.S., market-based by zone): Zone A $198,000–$297,000; Zone B $188,100–$282,100; Zone C $178,200–$267,400; Zone D $168,300–$252,500.
