Description

  • Research and develop state-of-the-art guidance, navigation, and control algorithms.
  • Model vehicle dynamics and develop flight-control systems for high-performance aircraft.
  • Tune and optimize control systems in simulation and real-world environments.
  • Apply first-principles engineering within an agile development team.
  • Support simulation, analysis, and validation of aircraft control performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, aeronautical, mechanical, electrical, or software engineering with a control-systems focus.
  • 7+ years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree, 6+ with a master’s degree, 4+ with a PhD, or equivalent experience.
  • Production experience with C++.
  • Experience with MATLAB and Simulink.
  • Expert knowledge of aircraft dynamics, control, stability, and handling qualities.
  • Ability to obtain a SECRET clearance.
  • Master’s or PhD in a relevant engineering discipline preferred.
  • Experience with modern control theory, including LQR/LQG, adaptive, robust, or model predictive control preferred.
  • Experience extracting linear aircraft state-space models from nonlinear equations of motion preferred.
  • Familiarity with servos, inertial navigation, air-data and vision-based navigation systems, Kalman filters, system identification, Git, and CI/CD preferred.
