Description

  • Research, design, and implement algorithms for task allocation, scheduling, and temporal sequencing for heterogeneous autonomous vehicle teams.
  • Improve existing C++ mission planning software across different vehicle types and compute platforms.
  • Collaborate with engineers, program managers, and product managers to define the technical roadmap for autonomy solutions and SDK offerings.
  • Develop software for core systems and help set software engineering standards.
  • Refine technical requirements and drive strategic technical improvements.
  • Mentor other engineers.
  • Break down missions into assignable tasks based on agent capabilities and changing mission conditions.
  • Construct feasible and optimal action plans that minimize human operator workload.
  • Support full software and hardware-in-the-loop simulation of complex multi-agent missions.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a PhD with graduate work in Optimization or Operations Research, or a Master's degree with 4+ years of experience in the same areas.
  • Expertise in Integer Programming or Mixed Integer Linear Programming, Constraint Programming, Convex Optimization, and Multi-Objective Optimization.
  • Experience using established solvers such as Gurobi, Google-OR, and CPLEX.
  • Significant experience implementing algorithms in C++.
  • Experience using debuggers such as gdb to troubleshoot execution in a multi-threaded environment.
  • Past publications in Optimization are a plus.
