Description

  • Manage and deliver privacy, security, and compliance projects aligned with organizational goals and timelines.
  • Assess operational, IT, and data privacy risks and help implement mitigation strategies with cross-functional teams.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve compliance frameworks, policies, and procedures aligned with regulations such as PIPEDA, COPPA, and GDPR.
  • Coordinate third-party audits and conduct internal assessments to support ongoing compliance.
  • Support software security improvements and initiatives that reduce risk exposure and strengthen controls.
  • Lead or support incident response activities, including investigation, documentation, communication, and remediation.
  • Triage and respond to compliance-related tickets and inquiries from internal teams.
  • Research privacy laws and industry standards and translate them into practical policies and processes.
  • Prepare compliance documentation and reports for internal stakeholders, clients, and auditors.
  • Liaise with clients, vendors, auditors, and internal teams on compliance requirements and initiatives.
  • Support training efforts and promote a culture of data security and compliance across the organization.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in privacy, data security, compliance, and risk management.
  • Postgraduate education in cybersecurity or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of Canadian privacy laws and regulations.
  • Experience providing training and developing policy documents related to privacy and compliance.
  • Project management experience.
  • PMP certification is a strong asset but not required.
  • CIPP/C, CIPM, or other relevant privacy/security certifications are a plus.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft 365.
  • Interest in IT and technology; an IT background is an asset.
  • Ability to work proactively, troubleshoot complex issues, and manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
