Description

  • Own core platform services including SSO, auth, profile, and data aggregation layers.
  • Design, build, and maintain backend APIs, services, and the frontend interfaces that use them.
  • Drive architectural decisions, including trade-offs and documentation for service evolution.
  • Design systems for scale, reliability, observability, error handling, and recovery.
  • Make platform decisions that support multi-region data residency and data movement across the US, Canada, the UK, and Australia.
  • Write production code daily and own features end to end.
  • Collaborate with product engineers to understand needs and deliver clean, well-documented APIs.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Strong full stack capability, with ownership from database to UI.
  • Production experience with Node.js and TypeScript.
  • Modern React development experience, including hooks, state management, and component architecture.
  • Solid understanding of relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL, including query optimization.
  • Experience with OpenSearch, Elasticsearch, or similar search infrastructure.
  • Working knowledge of AWS fundamentals, including RDS, S3, ECS, and SQS.
  • Hands-on experience building or operating identity and auth systems such as OAuth, SAML, and SSO federation.
  • Experience owning services in production, including monitoring, debugging, and incident response.
  • Clear technical communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Backend experience with PHP/Laravel is a plus.
  • Experience with .NET is a plus.
  • Experience with event-driven architectures and async job processing is a plus.
  • Prior experience as a tech lead or staff engineer is a plus.
