Description

  • Manage the full-cycle medical billing process from claim creation through final payment resolution.
  • Submit claims and generate billing using ICD-10 and CPT coding.
  • Post payments, reconcile accounts, and process adjustments.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and follow up to support timely collections.
  • Handle denials, appeals, and claim resubmissions.
  • Verify insurance coverage and eligibility.
  • Process prior authorizations for procedures and services.
  • Use payer portals such as Availity and other payer-specific systems for claims and follow-ups.
  • Communicate with insurance providers about claim status, denials, and authorizations.
  • Support front-office tasks such as patient intake and insurance-related inquiries.
  • Ensure documentation meets medical necessity and payer requirements.
  • Collaborate with providers and internal teams to resolve billing discrepancies.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of end-to-end medical billing experience.
  • Strong experience with claim submission and generation, ICD-10 and CPT coding, payment posting, A/R management, and denial handling.
  • Experience with insurance verification and prior authorizations.
  • Hands-on experience with Medicare, Medicaid/Medi-Cal or state equivalents, Medicare Advantage, and California HMO plans.
  • Familiarity with U.S. insurance portals such as Availity and payer portals.
  • Strong understanding of medical necessity requirements.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to work in U.S. time zones including PST, EST, and CST.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred: Experience with Independent Physician Associations (IPAs).
  • Preferred: Background in Primary Care and/or ENT specialties.
  • Preferred: Experience with DrChrono EHR.
