Description

  • Mentor staff and help advance their technical skills while executing projects.
  • Manage technical elements of projects, including determining required analyses and the appropriate approach for each analysis.
  • Self-perform and direct project teams in the planning and design of roadway projects.
  • Ensure the development of high-quality engineering documents.
  • Communicate technical progress and issues to the Project Manager in a timely and ongoing manner.
  • Follow internal quality control, documentation, and project tracking procedures.
  • Serve as a technical specialist or advisor on other project work as needed.
  • Provide input into the growth of the practice and roadway group.
  • Perform, review, and manage technical analysis and design work.
  • Take responsibility for the completeness of design details and ensure compliance with PQMP.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or a related discipline required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of engineering experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • NCDOT experience preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment across a variety of tasks.
  • Advanced knowledge of roadway design software and strong proficiency in most programs used in this discipline.
  • Advanced knowledge of applicable roadway design codes and standards.
  • Experience with MicroStation required.
  • Experience with OpenRoads Design highly desirable.
