Description

  • Define and drive the technical vision for the Platform Engineering team.
  • Lead architecture decisions for integration patterns, caching infrastructure, and shared services.
  • Own the design, implementation, and maintenance of Athena EMR integrations.
  • Build scalable, resilient clinical data synchronization patterns.
  • Design and implement caching strategies to improve performance and reduce external API dependencies.
  • Monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot platform performance and bottlenecks.
  • Build and maintain shared libraries, SDKs, and internal APIs that improve developer productivity.
  • Create documentation, examples, and guidelines for consuming platform services.
  • Partner with product engineering teams to deliver platform solutions that accelerate development.
  • Collaborate with DevOps, Security, Compliance, and engineering leadership on reliable, HIPAA-compliant platform services and roadmap prioritization.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience, with 3+ years focused on platform engineering, integrations, or backend infrastructure.
  • Strong experience building and maintaining third-party API integrations at scale.
  • Proficiency with caching technologies, with Redis preferred, and performance optimization strategies.
  • Deep expertise in TypeScript/Node.js and building backend services.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives and work effectively across multiple teams.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for varied audiences.
  • Experience with healthcare integrations, particularly Athena EMR, Epic, or Cerner, is preferred.
  • Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards such as FHIR, HL7, or CCD is preferred.
  • Experience building internal developer platforms or shared services is preferred.
  • Background in designing systems for high availability and fault tolerance is preferred.
  • Understanding of HIPAA compliance requirements for healthcare data is preferred.
