Description

  • Provide cross-team technical leadership and drive complex, multi-team initiatives from idea to launch.
  • Own end-to-end delivery for complex initiatives that cut across multiple product teams and services.
  • Personally execute on the highest-priority and most technically challenging projects, setting standards for quality, velocity, and collaboration.
  • Define and evolve architecture for core product areas such as member journeys, clinical workflows, and care coordination.
  • Design APIs, data models, and integration patterns that enable reusable clinical and member experiences.
  • Raise reliability and performance standards by driving SLOs, capacity planning, and incident-ready system designs.
  • Embed testability and observability into designs, including unit/functional tests, contract tests, automated checks, and high-quality analytics instrumentation in Mixpanel.
  • Work with Product and Data to set up dashboards and monitoring that reflect user and clinical outcomes and lead post-incident reviews and systemic improvements.
  • Mentor senior and mid-level engineers, uphold engineering standards (coding conventions, architecture patterns, documentation), and model a pragmatic, product-focused mindset.

Requirements

  • ~8+ years of professional software engineering experience with significant time as a senior/staff individual contributor building production product experiences.
  • Proven track record of owning and shipping multi-team projects in modern web stacks and working closely with product and design on user-facing features.
  • Comfortable leading technical decisions in ambiguous domains and defending tradeoffs to stakeholders.
  • Strong full-stack capabilities: design APIs and data models, build UIs that consume them, and wire up monitoring and metrics.
  • Deep familiarity with at least one cloud provider and infrastructure-as-code (experience with Google Cloud Platform and Terraform is relevant).
  • Strong systems design instincts focused on reliability, performance, security, and cost; experience driving SLOs and capacity planning.
  • Excellent debugging and incident-response skills, comfortable analyzing logs, traces, and data to resolve issues.
  • Proven ability to lead through influence and collaborate cross-functionally with clinicians, operations, and research teams, with clear written and verbal communication.
  • Comfort mentoring and leveling up other engineers and helping define engineering standards.
  • Nice to have: experience in healthcare or regulated domains (HIPAA, PHI, SOC 2), and exposure to EHRs, wearables integrations, or other health data platforms; familiarity with the tech stack (TypeScript, Node/Express, React, MySQL, Mixpanel, Okta, Sentry, Github, Omni, third-party APIs) is a plus.
