Description

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows
  • Own and improve data warehouse architecture and data modeling practices to support analytics and reporting
  • Implement and drive data quality initiatives, including validation, testing, and monitoring frameworks
  • Partner with product engineering teams to design data contracts and integrate data capture into applications
  • Collaborate with Analytics and Business Intelligence teams to understand reporting needs and deliver reliable data products
  • Work with Security and Compliance to implement data governance and privacy best practices
  • Support clinicians and clinical researchers by ensuring required data availability, de-identification integration, and reduced latency for projects
  • Lead complex data initiatives from design through implementation and contribute to data strategy and roadmaps with Product and Engineering leadership
  • Mentor and coach junior data engineers and establish documented data engineering standards, patterns, and best practices

Requirements

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience, with 3+ years focused on data engineering
  • Deep experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake and BigQuery
  • Proficiency with data pipeline orchestration tools (Airflow, Dagster, or similar)
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with data modeling and warehouse design
  • Experience with data transformation tools such as dbt or Spark
  • Experience with Python for data processing and automation
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives and influence without direct authority
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to translate complex technical concepts for varied audiences
  • Familiarity with streaming data architectures and real-time processing (e.g., Pub/Sub, Kafka)
  • Experience building and scaling data quality and observability platforms and improving data accessibility/self-service analytics
