Description

  • Independently lead and deliver billable client engagements from discovery through production deployment (target ~40 hrs/week billable).
  • Plan and execute Atmosera delivery frameworks including data workshops (visioning, requirements, stakeholder alignment), assessments & blueprinting, Fabric foundations, PoV engagements, and production migrations.
  • Design and implement scalable, secure, and performant data solutions on Microsoft Fabric and related Azure data services, and own technical architecture decisions.
  • Build and optimize data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Fabric-native tooling, and develop/tune Spark-based workloads (batch and/or streaming).
  • Architect medallion/lakehouse patterns, implement data modeling, transformation, and orchestration strategies, and ensure alignment with Azure Well-Architected and data platform best practices.
  • Facilitate workshops and guide clients through ambiguous problem spaces, translating business requirements into technical solutions and structured recommendations.
  • Identify risks, tradeoffs, and optimization opportunities during delivery and maintain a high standard of professionalism and delivery quality.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders throughout engagements.

Requirements

  • Deep expertise in Microsoft Fabric and end-to-end platform capabilities.
  • Strong experience with Azure Data Factory.
  • Advanced proficiency in Apache Spark (PySpark preferred; Scala experience desirable).
  • Experience designing modern data architectures (lakehouse, medallion patterns, ELT/ETL patterns).
  • Strong understanding of Azure data services and ecosystem integration (including Azure Well-Architected practices).
  • Proven ability to independently deliver consulting engagements and operate with minimal oversight after onboarding.
  • Strong client-facing communication, facilitation skills, and experience leading workshops, assessments, and architecture design sessions.
  • Preferred: Databricks engineering or architecture experience, Power BI (modeling/semantic layer/reporting integration), and Azure Synapse Analytics experience.
  • Preferred certifications: DP-203 (Azure Data Engineer Associate) or Fabric equivalent, Microsoft Fabric Analytics Engineer certification, and Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
  • This is a US-based contractor role (remote work from home) and may require travel to client sites; target billable expectation ~40 hrs/week.
