Description

  • Understand and identify customer needs and support pull-through activities aligned to the customer strategy.
  • Serve as a valued partner to healthcare professionals and their patients in the assigned territory.
  • Build strong product and disease-state knowledge to engage in clinical discussions with healthcare professionals.
  • Educate customers on approved indications and product efficacy/safety profiles to support on-label prescribing.
  • Use product knowledge to conduct customized, compliant, and ethical customer discussions and in-person interactions.
  • Drive sales performance to meet or exceed sales forecasts and territory objectives.
  • Manage assigned budgets effectively to support therapeutic and territory goals.
  • Maintain knowledge of the local market, practice structures, business models, key influencers, and network structure.
  • Work with leaders to develop and execute a business plan that achieves all goals and sales objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver appropriate resources and support within the territory.
  • Track and report administrative items including work hours, sales call data, customer objectives, samples, and expenses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of sales experience in a specialty sales environment.
  • Rare disease, injectable, and adult endocrinology experience preferred.
  • Start-up or other ambiguous, changing environment experience preferred.
  • Experience with complex distribution systems, HUB services, patient services, and specialty pharmacies.
  • Proven history of strong performance, including current strong performance.
  • New product launch experience preferred.
  • Self-starter with excellent decision-making, judgment, and ethics.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with peers and across functions.
  • Ability to analyze data and metrics to assess progress, diagnose performance issues, and identify opportunities.
  • Experience developing a successful business plan based on customer and patient needs.
  • Ability to establish new customer relationships and communicate technical information effectively and ethically.
  • Must meet all credentialing requirements as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record required.
  • Overnight travel required.
