Description

  • Lead the end-to-end design of BMS PCBAs, including circuit simulation, schematic capture, layout, routing, design reviews, manufacturing support, and revisions.
  • Work closely with mechanical and software teams early in the design process to ensure seamless integration of BMS hardware into the battery pack.
  • Design circuits for diagnostic coverage, redundancy, and fault tolerance in collaboration with systems and safety teams.
  • Own PCBA bring-up and verification using lab equipment across operating conditions and fault injection cases.
  • Support software development for new circuits and revisions by updating and authoring interface documents.
  • Coordinate builds with the PM, DFM, supply chain, and quality teams.
  • Support production and manufacturing needs, including design-for-test, root-cause analysis, component traceability, and build process development.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to integrate the battery pack with other aircraft electrical systems.
  • Collaborate with BMS integration, software, and controls engineers to run hardware fault injection tests on HILs and battery packs.

Requirements

  • BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience designing and verifying complex electrical circuits.
  • Experience with high-voltage battery systems and BMS electronics.
  • Experience using Altium Designer and circuit simulation tools such as LTSpice.
  • Detailed knowledge of PCB design rules, including IPC-610, IPC-2221, and IPC-2222.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience designing high-voltage battery systems in both aviation and automotive contexts is preferred.
  • Layout experience with both flexible and rigid board stackups is preferred.
  • Experience with new product development in regulated industries such as aviation or medical devices is preferred.
  • Experience with DO-160G, ISO 26262, or related standards is preferred.
  • Experience designing to industry standards for electromagnetic emissions and susceptibility is preferred.
  • Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Benefits

  • Base pay targeted between $144,000 and $185,000.
  • Actual compensation is determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
