Description

  • Own end-to-end systems on the Insights platform used for daily autonomy development workflows.
  • Build and improve ingestion infrastructure to ensure data correctness, freshness, and reliability at scale.
  • Develop and optimize query-critical infrastructure for latency, correctness, and stability.
  • Create dashboarding and autonomy-native visualizations, including geospatial views, log playback, and simulation playback tools.
  • Design and build agentic analytics capabilities that turn natural-language intent into answers, charts, and dashboards.
  • Develop data discoverability and governance features that help users and agents understand and use available data.
  • Build and maintain dataset lifecycle management systems to keep the data lakehouse healthy and performant.
  • Create data wrangling and transformation tools that support custom preparation and ETL flows inside the product.
  • Collaborate across the stack, from storage and query engines to APIs and product-facing tooling.
  • Build observability into data systems through metrics, alerting, and operational health monitoring.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of industry experience.
  • Experience building production data infrastructure, platform engineering, or distributed systems.
  • Experience with large-scale data processing and query execution at production scale.
  • Strong backend engineering fundamentals, including API design, service reliability, query optimization, distributed system trade-offs, telemetry, and monitoring.
  • Experience with data lakehouse architectures, table formats, or query federation is a strong plus.
  • Comfort operating across the stack, from storage and query engines to APIs and product-facing tooling.
  • Familiarity with observability practices such as metrics, alerting, and operational health for data systems.
  • Experience developing, testing, and shipping software with coding agents.
  • Bonus: experience with LLM tool use, agentic workflows, or semantic layers for natural-language interfaces.
  • Bonus: exposure to multimodal data, geospatial systems, or AV/robotics tooling.

  • Base salary range of $125,000 to $222,000 USD annually.
