Description

  • Serve as the technical subject matter expert for Applied’s autonomous vehicles and related systems.
  • Provide vehicle integration support by designing, prototyping, and installing proof-of-concept systems and sensors under evaluation.
  • Lead vehicles from build-out through delivery to the operations team, including final bring-up and shakedown testing.
  • Design and build test benches to validate mechanical, electrical, embedded, and software systems.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to vehicle integration.
  • Troubleshoot vehicle systems, computer components, and sensors, including root cause analysis.
  • Work to minimize vehicle downtime while maintaining a strong focus on safety.
  • Collaborate directly with hardware engineers, engineering technicians, operators, and safety drivers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical, electrical, or a related field.
  • 1+ years of technical experience in mechanical, electrical, computer, automotive, or robotics fields.
  • Experience working with autonomous vehicle components such as lidars, radars, and cameras.
  • Previous experience with low-volume manufacturing in the automotive or robotics industry.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and datasheets.
  • Experience documenting and maintaining detailed assembly procedures.
  • Experience using shop equipment, 3D printers, and automotive diagnostic tools.
  • Familiarity with CAD or SolidWorks design processes is a plus.
  • Experience with CNC, machining, metal working, and welding.
  • Experience with automotive repair and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with Python or other programming languages is a plus.
  • Familiarity with ROS and Linux OS is a plus.
  • Familiarity with programming microcontrollers or microprocessors is a plus.

  • Base salary of $118,000 to $201,000 USD annually.
