Description

  • Define and own the system architecture for autonomous robotic platforms, including locomotion, manipulation, perception, teleoperation, and whole-body control.
  • Lead a team of 8-10 engineers across reinforcement learning, imitation learning, perception, simulation, hardware, and robotics.
  • Set technical direction for sim-to-real transfer, policy architecture, and whole-body control integration.
  • Drive milestone execution on an aggressive 6-month delivery timeline.
  • Make build-versus-buy decisions for hardware platforms, simulation tools, and machine learning frameworks.
  • Represent the technical program to leadership, mission partners, and external stakeholders.
  • Personally contribute to the most critical technical challenges and make consequential technical decisions daily.
  • Write code and review designs as a hands-on technical leader.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in robotics, including at least 2 years in a technical leadership role.
  • Deep expertise in at least one of the following: reinforcement learning, robot manipulation, legged locomotion, or whole-body control.
  • Track record of shipping robotic systems that operate in the real world.
  • Strong software engineering skills in Python and C++.
  • Experience leading and growing technical teams of 5+ engineers.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
  • Experience with legged or multi-limbed robotic platforms, preferred.
  • Experience with defense or national security applications, preferred.
  • Publications in top robotics or machine learning venues, preferred.
  • Prior startup or defense technology experience, preferred.
  • Active U.S. TS/SCI security clearance, preferred.
