Description

  • Develop, implement, and maintain high-fidelity virtual representations of Anduril’s vehicles and systems.
  • Design, develop, deploy, and maintain HITL simulation infrastructure, including vehicle models, avionics emulation, and sensor simulation environments.
  • Own the end-to-end configuration and operation of SITL and HITL environments for test vehicles.
  • Coordinate and execute HITL test campaigns with flight test teams to validate GNC algorithms, mission autonomy software, and vehicle performance.
  • Develop and maintain emulated interfaces for onboard avionics to enable closed-loop hardware testing.
  • Troubleshoot real-time simulation issues, including timing constraints, hardware interface problems, and model fidelity discrepancies.
  • Work with subject matter experts to model subsystem, system, and system-of-systems dynamics.
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers to define simulation requirements and deliver modeling solutions.
  • Support flight test operations through pre-flight simulation validation and post-flight data correlation analysis.
  • Develop simulation solutions for guidance, navigation, and control algorithm development, Monte Carlo analysis, and test data analysis tools/processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, chemistry, or a related technical discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience in modeling, simulation, and analysis engineering or related technical experience for the senior level, or 3+ years for the standard Modeling Simulation Engineer level.
  • Experience with aerospace or aeronautical systems, including rotorcraft/VTOL, and/or subsea vehicles.
  • Experience in flight dynamics, platform physics, and control.
  • Nominal proficiency with C/C++.
  • Advanced proficiency with scientific computing tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, and scientific Python libraries like NumPy and SciPy.
  • Experience with flight test data processing and simulation correlation.
  • Experience developing subsystem and system-level models for complex systems such as air vehicles, ground vehicles, and ground-based sensors.
  • Experience developing models to support guidance, navigation, and control algorithm development.
  • Hands-on experience with HITL or SITL simulation operations, including test setup, execution, and debugging.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. TS security clearance.
  • Advanced proficiency with C/C++ is preferred.
  • Flight test support experience, including on-site operations and real-time troubleshooting, is preferred.
  • Extensive experience designing, developing, and deploying SITL and HITL simulation infrastructure for complex systems is preferred.
  • Experience building emulated or simulation interfaces for onboard avionics, including CAN, Ethernet, serial protocols, and custom hardware interfaces is preferred.
  • Experience operating real-time simulation environments such as NI/Speedgoat, dSPACE, or similar platforms is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to own and operate HITL labs supporting multiple concurrent flight test programs is preferred.
