Description

  • Design and maintain data systems for low-latency ingestion and transformation of structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
  • Build robust data models that support downstream data products and operational workflows.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver secure, reliable analytics solutions.
  • Create reusable entities, workflows, dashboards, and metrics that improve decision-making for Air Defense leadership.
  • Develop analytics solutions for network-isolated and classified environments.
  • Support engineering and field operations teams in understanding system performance in production.
  • Build data products that improve operational workflows.
  • Ensure data quality and perform root cause analysis on complex systems.
  • Deploy mission-critical analytics capabilities in real-world scenarios, including occasional travel.
  • Enable users through documentation, knowledge transfer, and self-service support.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in an analytics-focused or data-oriented role such as data engineer, analytics engineer, data scientist, or data analyst.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills for ambiguous and dynamic data problems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially with technical audiences, and an affinity for documentation.
  • Ability to work with multiple programming languages and frameworks.
  • Experience developing data solutions in a cloud environment.
  • Current U.S. Person status with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense Secret Clearance or higher.
  • Exposure to systems programming languages such as Python, C/C++, Zig, or Rust.
  • Basic knowledge of analytical workloads in on-premises or resource-constrained environments.
  • Experience handling data in air-gapped or security-hardened networks.
  • Exposure to robotics-related data formats such as MCAP or HDF5.
  • Hands-on experience with tools such as dbt, Palantir Foundry, Trino/Presto, Apache Spark, Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, DuckDB, or Polars.
  • Introductory knowledge of the Nix ecosystem for dependency management and system configuration.
  • Basic Linux skills.
  • Interest in developing and deploying autonomous systems in defense applications.
  • Prior exposure to or strong interest in defense, aerospace, or intelligence domains.
