Description

  • Lead the design, physical integration, and assembly of complex mechanical subsystems and electromechanical components into larger system architectures.
  • Develop and execute mechanical test plans, procedures, and custom fixtures for functional, performance, environmental, and qualification testing.
  • Conduct mechanical tests, collect data, and analyze results to identify anomalies and performance deviations.
  • Perform root cause analysis for mechanical failures and work with design engineers to implement corrective solutions.
  • Collaborate with electrical, systems, software, and manufacturing teams to define interfaces and verify system-level performance.
  • Provide feedback to improve design for testability, manufacturability, and overall system integration.
  • Create and maintain test reports, assembly instructions, and engineering change requests.
  • Refine integration and test methodologies to improve efficiency, reliability, and design for assembly outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in mechanical integration, assembly, and testing of complex hardware systems.
  • Experience setting up and operating mechanical test equipment such as shakers, thermal chambers, data acquisition systems, load cells, and accelerometers.
  • Ability to perform precise measurements and collect reliable test data.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electromechanical issues and conduct root cause analysis.
  • Experience creating assembly instructions, test procedures, and technical reports.
  • Familiarity with reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and CAD models.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience collaborating with design, electrical, software, and systems teams.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
  • Travel may be required depending on the team or role.
