Description

  • Build test capabilities across the manufacturing value stream, from component validation to system-level acceptance testing.
  • Develop, execute, and manage the test ecosystem to de-risk hardware and verify reliability targets.
  • Perform hands-on root cause analysis of electromechanical subsystems using structured problem-solving methods.
  • Design and implement semi-automated test equipment and protocols for characterization and environmental/reliability testing.
  • Collaborate with design and systems teams during product development to assess risk and support production test deployment.
  • Maintain testing logs, data, error codes, troubleshooting logic, and diagrams for fast issue resolution.
  • Write controlled test instructions for technicians in MES or other test execution systems.
  • Optimize full-system end-of-line factory acceptance testing for AUVs.
  • Test, troubleshoot, and rework PCBA and electrical system components as needed.
  • Train technicians and support bug fixes and production improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical, EE/Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in a relevant field, preferably testing electro-mechanical hardware in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with hardware testing and automated test systems such as LabVIEW and TestStand.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Matlab, or Shell.
  • Experience with computer hardware communication protocols such as USB, Ethernet, RS232, RS485, PCIe, HDMI, and CAN.
  • Experience developing full-system test plans and executing them on fast-paced product development timelines.
  • Experience programming and testing sensors, actuators, and electrical components.
  • Ability to prototype and run tests from experimental setup through hardware and software implementation.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret clearance.
  • Preferred: experience in subsea robotics or AUV/UUV industries.
  • Preferred: familiarity with PLM, MES, and TES systems.
  • Preferred: experience with high-voltage systems up to 400V and with integrated electrical, mechanical, and software/firmware systems.
