Description

  • Own the system architecture and technical direction for the Wealth engineering team.
  • Plan, build, release, and maintain high-quality software with the engineering and product teams.
  • Develop APIs and automation for client services across custody, advisor, and trading workflows.
  • Participate in task breakdown, estimation, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance of Wealth systems.
  • Write, review, test, and document code according to team standards.
  • Investigate complex and ambiguous problems and deliver practical technical solutions.
  • Refactor existing systems safely and reduce technical complexity.
  • Review other developers’ code to improve consistency and reduce errors.
  • Lead large, strategic, and complex projects by breaking them into achievable pieces.
  • Mentor and guide team members while collaborating cross-functionally across Anchorage Digital.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional experience building backend services.
  • Real-world experience building complex distributed systems.
  • Experience leading large-scale, complicated projects at an architectural level.
  • Strong engineering fundamentals, including concurrency, algorithms, and data structures; a formal CS degree is not required.
  • Experience building resilient services that can handle varying workloads without manual intervention.
  • Strong focus on code quality and test infrastructure.
  • Ability to prioritize end-user experience and business value over "cool tech."
  • Ability to collaborate closely with teams and contribute as part of a team every day.
  • GraphQL API design and implementation experience is a plus.
  • gRPC API design and implementation experience is a plus.
  • Background in the finance industry, especially Wealth, is a plus.
