Description

  • Identify the highest-leverage problems facing the engineering organization and own them end-to-end.
  • Lead multi-quarter programs spanning multiple teams with area-wide or org-wide impact.
  • Establish clear roadmaps, delivery milestones, and execution plans for complex initiatives.
  • Facilitate difficult prioritization decisions and technical direction tradeoffs.
  • Evaluate technical architectures and system designs across teams, identifying risks and trade-offs.
  • Stay close to implementation details, challenge assumptions, and maintain credibility with senior engineers.
  • Use deep technical judgment to course-correct projects that are technically infeasible or off track.
  • Build deep cross-functional relationships and facilitate conversations that drive alignment and decisions.
  • Tailor communication for engineers, executives, and other stakeholders with the right level of detail.
  • Identify gaps in capabilities, processes, or tooling and work with partner teams to prioritize solutions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in technical program management with progression into leading large, ambiguous initiatives across multiple teams and quarters.
  • Strong software engineering foundation with experience building systems and understanding technical architecture.
  • Ability to proactively identify high-impact opportunities, define strategy, and drive execution without waiting for direction.
  • Proven ability to facilitate tough decisions, including reprioritizing work, ending unsuccessful projects, and influencing technical approaches.
  • Experience introducing org-wide processes or changes, building the business case, and driving adoption across teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in highly ambiguous environments and define both the problem and the solution.
  • Experience in fintech, financial services, or highly regulated environments where compliance and security are critical (preferred).
  • Track record of mentoring or coaching other TPMs or engineers, or sharing knowledge through talks, blog posts, or documentation (preferred).
  • Proficiency in scripting or programming such as Python, Go, or JavaScript to prototype solutions or build tooling (preferred).
