Description

  • Develop and implement secure cryptographic code across the infrastructure.
  • Review code across the technology stack and help engineering teams resolve security guardrail issues.
  • Build resilient security components that can be integrated by other teams to protect assets and data.
  • Develop and maintain threat models for internal and external cryptosystem guarantees.
  • Monitor technical debt and identify opportunities for security and process improvements.
  • Lead or substantially contribute to medium and large Security Team initiatives with minimal oversight.
  • Coordinate work across engineering boundaries and drive projects from inception to completion.
  • Break complex work into manageable tasks with realistic time and scope estimates.
  • Present tradeoffs and recommendations clearly to guide prioritization decisions.
  • Mentor and guide engineers across the broader Engineering organization while sharing security knowledge.

Requirements

  • Strong foundation in applied cryptography, including symmetric and asymmetric encryption, hashing algorithms, digital signatures, key exchange protocols, and common cryptographic libraries.
  • Experience writing secure, efficient, and well-documented code in Go, C++, C, or Rust, with a focus on cryptographic implementations.
  • Experience with blockchain protocols is a plus.
  • Experience configuring and using Hardware Security Modules (HSMs) for secure key generation, storage, and management is a plus.
  • Ability to design and implement secure systems following security best practices and industry standards.
  • Understanding of authentication and authorization mechanisms, including multi-factor authentication, OAuth 2.0, and role-based access control (RBAC).
  • Ability to identify and assess threats and prioritize mitigation strategies through threat modeling.
  • Strong systems thinking, including the ability to analyze complex distributed systems and identify vulnerabilities.
  • Computer science fundamentals, including concurrency, algorithms, and data structures.
  • Genuine focus on code quality, test infrastructure, security, end-user experience, and business value.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Self-described qualities such as creative, humble, ambitious, detail-oriented, hardworking, trustworthy, eager to learn, methodical, action-oriented, and tenacious are preferred.
