Description

  • Build new backend services and capabilities to automate internal back-office workflows.
  • Integrate with and extend existing backend and frontend services across internal systems.
  • Collaborate with Global Operations teams to identify pain points and prioritize automation initiatives.
  • Translate operational needs into technical requirements and deploy effective solutions.
  • Design, develop, and maintain secure, resilient internal infrastructure.
  • Write robust, high-quality, well-tested code across multiple services.
  • Participate in code reviews for changes affecting multiple teams.
  • Break down cross-functional projects into manageable tasks and estimate multi-person efforts.
  • Influence the technical direction and roadmap for internal systems.
  • Mentor and guide other engineers on internal codebases and operational systems.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience building and enhancing complex internal software systems.
  • Experience designing, building, and deploying cloud-native microservices.
  • Experience with automated testing and a strong emphasis on test coverage.
  • Real-world experience building complex distributed systems.
  • Experience building services from scratch and supporting them over time.
  • Strong code quality and infrastructure mindset.
  • Computer science fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, and operating systems; a formal CS degree is not required.
  • Preferred experience with Python or Go.
  • Preferred experience with Kubernetes.
  • Preferred experience with system security, including authentication, authorization, identity, and API keys.
  • Preferred background in the finance industry.
  • A work style that is creative, humble, detail-oriented, hard-working, trustworthy, eager to learn, methodical, action-oriented, and tenacious.
