Description

  • Architect and own front-end systems, including patterns and component libraries that scale across the Atlas platform.
  • Plan, build, release, and maintain high-quality front-end experiences for the Atlas business.
  • Review front-end code and help establish engineering standards and best practices.
  • Develop clear, performant, and well-tested code while minimizing technical debt.
  • Solve complex UI and UX problems by balancing user experience with technical constraints.
  • Lead or contribute to medium-to-large front-end projects that span multiple teams.
  • Break down large UI initiatives into smaller tasks and estimate multi-person project scope.
  • Work cross-functionally with Product, Design, and Backend engineering to align on features and API changes.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and troubleshoot, mitigate, and learn from production incidents.
  • Mentor and guide other engineers, helping scale the team through hiring and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional experience building web applications and UIs.
  • Deep expertise in React.js and TypeScript.
  • Experience architecting front-end systems from scratch and supporting them over time.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and driving technical standards across a team or organization.
  • Strong focus on code quality, test infrastructure, and developer experience.
  • Experience providing on-call support for production systems.
  • Understanding of computer science fundamentals, including concurrency, algorithms, and data structures; a formal CS degree is not required.
  • Prior experience with web security concepts such as authentication, authorization, identity, and API keys is a plus.
  • Experience with system design for front-end applications at scale is a plus.
  • Professional experience with backend technologies such as Go or C++ is a plus.
